Project Description
The customer was experiencing product wastage of the sensitive granules (with low melting point) which cannot withstand the excessive temperatures at the surface and/or inside due to the sun radiation. Contrary to popular belief, the high glossy aluminium surface was not sufficient to reflect the sun radiation. The proposed solution protects the cold granules during the warm season and by avoiding the excessive heating up of the silos surface.
After the customer had done extensive internal testing and comparisons with other potential solutions, SUPER THERM proved to outperform the other competitors and was chosen as the ideal option.
Coating Solution
After cleaning with high pressure the silos were coated with SUPER THERM (425μ WFT / 250μ DFT) to prevent outside heat penetration. A top coat of ENAMO GRIP white was then used to offer the silos a protective layer and give a glossy finish. Rope access application had to be used as it was the only option.
+/- 10.000m² were treated with this combined solution in 3 phases.
Project Description
Fuel storage tanks were constructed and installed with lead-based paint and needed to be recoated due to corrosion problems. Customer wanted to avoid having to remove the lead-based paint through abrasive blasting. (This due to the additional work, hazardous working conditions and large concentrated volume of waste generated by abrasive blasting of lead paint.)
Coating Solution
Cleaning: Minimum surface preparation by power wash at 3.500 psi (240 bar) RUST GRIP was applied twice at 150 microns wet film thickness.
ENAMO GRIP (tinted to Desert Tan) was then applied at 75 microns dry film thickness.

Coating Solution
RUST GRIP was applied in 2 layers to prevent further damage from rust. ENAMO GRIP was added as a protective layer in a customized yellow colour as requested by the customer.
